The first chapter tells of the fate of white cotton flowers, and, implicitly, of the director who searches for a snake and turns his belt into one. The second chapter presents a red cinematic language and a nuclear explosion of fixed white balance. In the third, a flagpole-bell sings a requiem for the victims of the fog of war; and in the fourth, everything ends with songs, dances, and naked people.
The opening credits state that this film was made by shadows, colors, wind, camera, and sun. “This is a political film,” the filmmaker enters into a dialogue with himself.

This film, inspired by Andrei Bely’s symbolist novel Petersburg, becomes an occasion to explore the very essence of cinema. The city itself, along with the intricate system of images developed in the novel, turns into a stage for a story about the relationship between a director and an actress. A century later, the materiality of these images reflects on the condition of cinema and triggers a game with reality – where the director, guiding the actress along a predetermined path, wanders through the traces of the script in search of an impossible encounter.

Teenagers walk through the forest, discerning their uncertain future in it. The workers work on the never finished construction site, and the fisherman finds in his escapism a form of resistance and dissolves into the night. All these characters are casual encounters and fragments in which I see myself.
